Some pieces will be entered for juried shows so, for now, I am sharing glimpses of them.
Wool and silk, silk and wool. I start with one or the other, experimenting with 'wool felt lamination'. Wax resist and the use of sumi-ink adds further interest to painting on silk which is then steam-fixed. Felting is a magical process, whereby the use of water and olive soap massaged onto the fibres causes them to lock together, manipulating the silk. The textures revealed best express my artistic intention.
